The hustle and bustle has reached Stavanger full force as Stavanger Major officially starts tomorrow. We could not be more exited!
There is something brewing in Stavanger. The ships are in. The people are here. The harbour is looking more and more like a beach and people are strolling along the scenic waterfront watching the tanned and tall boys and girls warming up for this years most exiting happening, the Stavanger Major.
The upcoming Stavanger Major is the 2. stop on the Swatch Major Series and a crucial step on the way to the World Tour Final in Fort Lauderdale, where the top 10 teams in the world will battle it out for the all-time high prize money of 100.000USD (around 800.000NOK).
In addition, the Swatch Beach Volleyball Major Series is part of the FIVB World Tour and serves as part of qualifying for the 2016 Olympics, where matches will be played right on Rio’s Copacabana Beach! It’s easy to understand how much this means to both players and fans.
Even though the tournament officially start tomorrow, some of the players have already had a chance to get their game-face on here in Stavanger. The Country Quota for the women is underway and the spectators are in for a freebie, as all admittance for games today is free of charge. If you’ve never seen beach volleyball live, you’re in for a treat. Expect fast, exciting and explosive action, passionate play and the most fun-loving fans on the planet.
The ticket office can report that sales is well underway, so if you still haven’t got your tickets for your favorite days at the Stavanger Major, the time to act is now!
