And then there were four. Brazil, Italy and two teams from Poland will fight for the gold medal – and a Viking sword – at the Swatch Beach Volleyball Major Series in Stavanger, Norway on June 14.
Semi Final action starts at 11:00 am CET, when the Polish number 2 seeds Grzegorz Fijalek and Mariusz Prudel take the sand against 7th-seeded Evandro Goncalves and Pedro Salgado of Brazil. Then at 12:30 pm CET, Italy's 29th-seeded Ingrosso twins – Matteo and Paolo – who made short work of Brazilian legends Ricardo Santos and Emanuel Rego in the Quarter Finals, will look to conjure the same magic in a battle of the underdogs against Poland's other contenders in the Semis, 25th-seeded Piotr Kantor and Bartosz Losiak.
Every match on Sunday will go down in the 3,000-seat Center Court, with the bronze medal match at 14:30 CET and the gold medal combat at 16:00 CET. The medal ceremony follows, where the winners will receive a full-size replica of an iconic Viking sword, the hallmark of beach volleyball victory in Stavanger.
